who wish to become, Ordinary Members of the Institute (MPMIs).

Becoming an Ordinary Member (MPMI)
Ordinary Membership is open to those who have successfully completed one or
more of the following qualifications:

Retirement Provision Diploma (RPD)
-
Qualification in Pensions Administration
(QPA)
-
Qualification in Public Sector Pensions
Administration (QPSPA)
-
Diploma in Member Directed Pension Scheme Administration
-
Diploma in International Employee
Benefits (Dip.IEB)
-
Diploma in Pension Calculations
In addition those with 220 credits in the qualifications
framework are eligible to apply.
If you have have completed one or more of the above then the
next step is to complete an
Ordinary Member Application Form
(pdf) and return it to the Student & Membership Services Department.
Ordinary Members of the Institute are entitled to use the
letters MPMI after their name. This grade of Membership confers no voting
rights.
Election fees
In addition to paying an annual subscription when you are first elected as an
Ordinary Member, a fee is also payable which for 2008/2009 is £130.
Membership subscription
Subscriptions are payable in advance on 1 September each year. The 2008/2009
rate for Ordinary Members is £140. A pro rata discount is available during the

Becoming an Associate
Ordinary Members who have completed successfully the Institute's Associateship
examinations and who have had a period of not less than three years practical
experience in the UK or the Republic of Ireland either in the management or
administration of a pension scheme, or in the capacity of an adviser to a scheme
or in any other field which the Council of the Institute considers appropriate,
can apply to become Associates.
To begin studying for the Associateship examinations an individual must first
register as a Student Member of the Institute.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The CPD programme is designed to formally recognise the continued study
undertaken by qualified members of the Institute to ensure that they keep their
knowledge up-to-date. For details on the Institute's CPD scheme and how it
works, click here.
Regulations
As a Member of the Institute you are required to adhere to its
Code of Professional Conduct (pdf) and to
the Articles of Association.
