PMI services for trustees

The PMI recognise that the role of the pension fund trustee is a responsible one. Trustees must be aware of their legal rights and duties and also have a knowledge of the broader framework within which pension funds operate.

Trustees are not however specialists in any area of pensions management - the effective trustee will have a broad and relevant knowledge and will be able to ask the right questions of the many professionals engaged in the efficient running of pension funds.

The PMI provides several services to support trustees in the exercise of their responsibilities as well as offering two examinations which provide formal recognition of pensions knowledge and understanding.

Further details about the above trustee services can be found by clicking the relevant links on the left. Alternatively click here to download the 'Supporting Trustees' leaflet.

RSPA develops the General Statement of Administration Standards

Raising Standards of Pensions Administration (RSPA) has developed the General Statement of Administration Standards (GSAS), following widespread consultation with the pensions industry with both key organisations and leading individuals, so that trustees (or those in a similar role) and administrators may have a statement of the standards by which they are expected to conduct business.
