Are we looking at the most radical change to pension scheme governance in the last 15 years?

Insight Partner

The Occupational Pension Schemes (Governance Amendment) Regulations 2018 came into force in January 2019 setting out how IORP II will be implemented in UK law.

The Regulations set out a structure for trustees to demonstrate that they have adequate and effective systems of governance, which are proportionate to the size and complexity of the risk profile of their scheme. The Pensions Regulator (TPR) is due to provide guidance to trustees on how to achieve this within a Consultation as part of the first phase of its programme to combine its existing fifteen Codes of Practice. This session will look at what we already know and considers how this will impact trustees’ approach to scheme governance.
