On joining, Programme Membership will be confirmed and a Certificate issued. The first Certificate will last for one year.  Subsequently, an annual declaration must be made to confirm relevant CPD has been completed.  The CPD declarations will be subject to verification sampling.

The Certificate

The PMI Automatic Enrolment Accredited CPD Programme Certificate is evidence that the individual has met the relevant admission requirements of the Programme and adheres to the PMI’s Code of Professional Conduct.

CPD

Maintaining professional competence in the area of automatic enrolment through CPD is a key element of the Programme.  If CPD requirements are not met, the Certificate of Membership cannot be issued.  To meet the requirements individuals are required to undertake a minimum of ten hours appropriate CPD in a 12 month period. We anticipate that the CPD year for this purpose could be aligned with the CPD year for other PMI membership grades. Prospective members are required to make a declaration to this effect on joining and annually thereafter.

A broad view of relevant CPD will be taken so as to include the wide spectrum of activities that are appropriate in this area.

CPD can be recorded on the PMI’s systems or any other appropriate system.

NOTE: For Programme Members who have also a CPD requirement allied to their PMI membership grade, (i.e. Associates and Fellows), or in connection with the Financial Conduct Authority’s Retail Distribution Review regime, in the PMI Accredited Adviser Programme (PMI AAP) for example, we anticipate that the CPD activity for this Programme will be relevant for those purposes.  Further details on PMI CPD requirements can be found here and PMI AAP CPD requirements can be found here.

Automatic enrolment relevant events for CPD

The PMI runs events that are relevant for CPD to assist members with meeting the requirements.  For details of our forthcoming qualifying events see the Events page
