Brightwell is a comprehensive service provider to UK defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. It has unparalleled expertise, underpinned by its experience as the primary services provider to one of the UK’s largest defined benefit pension schemes – the BT Pension Scheme (BTPS). In April 2023, Brightwell opened its capabilities to other DB schemes, and in February 2025 went live as the administrator for the Mineworker’s Pension Scheme (MPS).

The LGA represents local government at a national level. Its LGPS pensions team works to promote best practice, provide support, and drive improvements for LGPS administering authorities and employers.

The LGPS pensions team provides the Certificate in LGPS Administration, a qualification for those involved with pensions administration in the LGPS, as well as a range of other training courses for pensions administrators, employers and committee and board members.
