PMI announces key Board appointments to support future growth
The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) has confirmed a number of Board appointments, including the reappointment of Girish Menezes as President for a further one-year term and the appointment of Mark Ormston as a Non-Executive Director of the PMI Board.
The appointments come at a crucial time for the sector as the industry navigates significant regulatory, technological and market change. Through these appointments, the PMI is reinforcing its commitment to raising professional standards, developing future talent and ensuring the sector has the skills, expertise and leadership needed to meet evolving challenges and opportunities.
The appointments - approved at the PMI's Annual General Meeting on Thursday (10/9) - will strengthen leadership, governance and strategic oversight as the PMI finalises its next four-year corporate plan, which will be published early in 2027.
Girish Menezes said:
"I am honoured to continue serving as PMI President for a further year. The pensions profession is evolving rapidly, creating both challenges and opportunities for our sector. The PMI has a vital role to play in supporting professional standards, developing skills and helping individuals at every stage of their careers to ensure they have what it takes to deliver the best possible saver outcomes. I look forward to building on the progress we have made and continuing to work with members, volunteers and industry partners to support the future success of our profession."
Mark Ormston joins PMI Board
The PMI has appointed pensions expert Mark Ormston as a Non-Executive Director, succeeding Sarah Drummond, who will step down at the conclusion of her term of office.
Mark, who is Chief Compliance Officer at Retirement Line, brings extensive Board and Chair experience, strong financial oversight capabilities, regulatory and governance expertise, and experience of technology and digital transformation initiatives.
He also offers considerable pensions industry knowledge and strategic partnership experience. He held various roles across the pensions landscape, including Chair of PASA’s Industry Policy Committee and Chair of NextGen’s Research & Insights Committee. He was also a member of the PMI’s Advisory Council and holds EPMI status.
Mark said: "I am delighted to join the Board of the Pensions Management Institute at such a pivotal period for our industry. At a time when people access information—accurate or otherwise—in a much more transactional way than ever before, the PMI’s role in driving education, knowledge, and high professional standards is more vital than ever. I very much look forward to working with the Board to support our 10,000-plus members and foster long-standing, robust innovation across the sector."
