Christine is an experienced consultant who has a special interest in governance and shaping good governance solutions.
Her base is Glasgow where until recently, she worked for Mercer and will shortly join Barnett Waddingham as a Senior Pensions Management consultant. She joined the pensions industry in 1984 and have worked in a number of firms and roles including administration and more general consulting. She has also undertaken some interesting in-house secondment roles. Over her more recent career she has found her specialism of choice is governance and the good running of pension schemes which influences the outcomes for all stakeholders (i.e. trustees, sponsors and members).
She directly supported the leadership of the Mercer UK Governance Network and also performed the role of Pensions Governance Officer for a £3bn pension scheme where all aspects of running the scheme, including the role of secretary to the trustee, are outsourced to her team. In the spirit of tPR's 21st Century Trusteeship campaign she thinks it is important that the Council membership reflects this increasingly important area.
She has been responsible for PMI student support in the past and continues to develop and mentor people who want careers in scheme management (i.e. the "specialist generalists" of the industry. They pull things together and make them happen.) She will bring these organisational skills and her completer drive to the Council.
Meeting new people, fostering wider relationships and sharing experiences stimulates her and she is sure that she can add something to the work of the Council.
Married with two teenage children and a recently acquired cat. she enjoys yoga and prosecco though not always at the same time...
