From 2021, we will be holding private sittings of the CPT unit 2 exams which will take place online. If you would like to hold a private sitting please contact James Cumine directly to enquire about availability.

Private sittings can hold no less than 10 individuals and at least 4 weeks notice must be given so that we can try and hold the exam on your chosen date.

Who is this course for?

Certificate in Pension Trusteeship (CPT qualification) will give those people wishing to become Accredited Trustees the necessary qualification to prove their knowledge, and their application of this knowledge, in their role as a Accredited Trustee.

Assessment method

The qualification will be assessed by:

  • Unit 1 - Professional Trusteeship: a multiple-choice exam of 60 questions, lasting 90 minutes, and;
  • Unit 2 - Soft Skills: a multiple-choice exam of 60 questions, lasting 90 minutes.

These two units are 'stand alone' and can be taken independently of each other.

It is noted that 'Soft Skills' will not always give a definitive single correct answer.  It is for this purpose (as you will see in the sample questions), that, in some cases, there may be more than one correct answer, and it is only fair through assessment, that we recognise that. However, please note that only one correct answer needs to be selected to achieve full marks for the particular question, even if there are two correct answers within the question.

Those learners already holding the Award In Pension Trusteeship (APT), or its equivalent, will be exempt from sitting Unit 1, and any of those previously passed qualifications will count towards the final certificate as having completed Unit 1 through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

You will automatically be issued with a Unit Credit Certificate for either or both Units of this qualification.

Please note: To sit this qualification you must be at least a Student member of the PMI, currently £178 (Until August 2025) . The student membership year normally runs from the 1 September to 31 August.
