Lorraine Harper - Vice President

Lorraine is a Director and Head of Governance Services at JLT Benefit Solutions.

Lorraine has been a member of the PMI since 1979 and became a FPMI in 1991. Lorraine has been a member of PMI’s Professional Standards Committee since its inception for two years then moved on to the Audit & Risk Committee where she is still a member. She has also been a TPAS adviser since 1992.

Over the last 39 years of working in pensions, Lorraine has helped clients in both public and private sector and has worked with the largest pension schemes in Europe both in the UK and overseas.  Moving from a starting position as a trainee insurance broker in 1978, Lorraine’s work moved on to pensions’ administration and advisory work, both for large third party providers.  Lorraine spent some time with in-house schemes and moved into pensions’ management consulting with KPMG in 1990 then on to Aon Hewitt in 2006 and JLT in 2011.
Lorraine became a Council member in July 2015 and was elected joint Vice-President, following the 2017 AGM.

Lorraine is a long-standing supporter of PMI’s education programmes most recently in support of the Certificate in Member Guidance.  With the advent of such huge changes in our industry, Lorraine feels that, “Educating the public should be a major focus for anyone involved in pensions; the risks are too important and the impact too great to ignore the need for high quality pensions professionals able to articulate complex pensions choices to those whose well-being in later life will depend on the decisions they make at retirement and before.”

Outside the pensions industry Lorraine is a community governor for a local school and a musician.
