Sara started her career in pension administration and have since worked both in-house, as the UK pension manager of a large multi-sited employer, and in consultancy. She joined Barnett Waddingham LLP in 2013 and became an Associate of the firm in 2014. Her role focuses on providing governance and secretariat support to trustees and support on projects, which brings her into direct contact with the issues facing trustees, the solutions identified to address them, and ensuring that there is always a clear audit trail in place.
She served on PMI’s Advisory Council from 2008 until 2017, when she stood down by rotation. During that time, PMI went through considerable change and evolution in order the reflect developments in the pensions landscape. She served on the Development Committee, Regulatory Committee and chaired both the Lifelong Learning Committee and Media Sub-committee. She is currently Chair of the PMI DC Governance Committee.
She is also a past Director of the Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA) and a member of the PASA Industry Policy Group.
Raising educational standards of pension professionals and trustees is central to supporting good member outcomes; PMI’s qualifications support this requirement. She welcomes the opportunity to support PMI in continuing to meet the needs of its membership and its strategic objectives as a member of its Advisory Council.
