This session will explore how the pensions sector is working together to shape qualifications that meet today’s regulatory requirements, changing trustee responsibilities, and workforce development priorities. Working collaboratively, we will examine how the PMI and industry stakeholders are aligning on qualification design, delivery models and curriculum development to ensure relevance and rigour across the sector.

With a focus on building capability rather than endorsing any single approach, the panel will share practical insights from current work across education, administration and governance, all with the goal of creating qualifications that support pension and trustee organisations today and into the future.

In 2025, dashboards remain unfinished, the small pots project has only just begun, DC and de-risking dominate discussions, while DB schemes continue to pose long-term challenges. Administrators face growing pressure, working with systems never designed for today’s demands, while members, trustees and regulators expect more than ever.

This session shares insights from the UK (where practical delivery matters), the Netherlands (where DB to DC change is accelerating), and the Nordics (which have led the way in member-focused pensions). Together, these perspectives shape a vision for UK administration now and for the future. The aim: to create administration that balances every stakeholder’s needs, harnesses technology effectively, and draws on the sector’s deep expertise. UK pensions are complex, but also exciting, join us to explore what’s next.

Digital communications are often thought of as websites, portals or emails. But true communication is about creating connected experiences that feel relevant and easy to use. In this session, you will explore how understanding people’s behaviour, supported by insights from the data schemes already hold, can transform how members engage with pensions. By moving beyond assumptions and focusing on how people really think and act, you will see how to design journeys that are timely, personalised and effective. From communication campaigns to everyday interactions, we will show how bringing people and data together builds stronger engagement, better outcomes and greater trust in pensions.
