A facilitated discussion exploring the key challenges facing trustees today. This ice breaker encourages participants to share experiences and sets the tone for the course. We’ll consider the current pensions landscape, the pressures this creates for trustees, and how the role is evolving as they balance increasing complexity with long‑term strategic thinking.

Module 2 | Trustee leadership skills

 

A focused exploration of the factors that support or hinder good decision‑making and governance. This module introduces different decision‑making styles to help trustees navigate board decisions more effectively, while also developing a critical mindset to manage complexity with confidence.

  • Strengthening knowledge on decision-making styles and understanding where you fit
  • Understanding the blockers to good decision-making on a trustee board and recognising them when they occur

This module brings together the learnings from the first three modules and looks at the dynamics of Trustee Board culture and the important contributions that trustees can make in having a positive influence on that culture.
