Page Executive joins TAP to help deliver a diverse pipeline of pension trustees

Leading executive recruitment firm Page Executive has joined the PMI’s Trustee Accelerator Programme as a strategic partner, boosting efforts to build a stronger and more diverse pipeline of future pension trustees.

The firm will use its ENABL network to help TAP reach a broader pool of senior applicants for its first industry-wide intake of trainees, in addition to candidates who may be at much earlier stages of their careers.

Varsha Gicas, Chief Customer Officer at the PMI, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Page Executive to TAP. Their ENABL network will play a crucial role in opening up opportunities to a diverse pool of talent which is representative of the diverse group of members trustees may represent.

“Having Page Executive as a strategic partner reflects once more how TAP is becoming the leading initiative aimed at finding the pension professionals of tomorrow. This work is vital as we strive to meet government and regulatory expectations in a rapidly changing sector.”

ENABL is Page Executive’s Empowerment Network for Asian and Black Leaders. It was created to open pathways into Non-Executive Director roles and to support the development of the next generation of leadership talent. The network focuses on practical skills and confidence building for executives who are preparing to progress into senior governance roles.

Its purpose aligns closely with TAP’s focus on widening access and strengthening governance capability within the pensions sector.

Through ENABL, Page Executive will promote TAP’s public application route to experienced leaders, ensuring the programme continues to reach candidates with the long-term commitment needed for the two-year training journey.

Page Executive will also support each cohort of trainees by providing interview skills training at the end of the programme ahead of any trustee and NED interviews.

TAP continues to grow as demand for skilled trustees rises across UK pensions. Support from organisations such as Page Executive is helping the programme develop a more capable and more diverse generation of trustees who can navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and operational environment.

Catherine Osaigbovo, Senior Partner – HR and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Page Executive, said:

“At its core, Page Executive’s ENABL network is about supporting diverse leaders in their career growth. Partnering with the PMI’s Trustee Accelerator Programme, which prioritises building a more diverse pipeline of future pension trustees, is not only an incredibly organic alignment of values, but a chance to open more opportunities for our ENABL members.”

Over the past six months, TAP has expanded rapidly, moving from a pilot to a sector wide initiative backed by Standard Life, Scottish Widows, Aviva and LifeSight. Page Executive successfully introduced several high-quality participants to last year’s pilot programme. They have now completed formal training and have all passed their PMI exams.
