Pensions Management Institute partners with Phoenix CIS

The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) is pleased to announce it has appointed Phoenix CIS as its Academy Partner to provide content on investment-only platforms to its members.

Phoenix CIS provides agile, flexible, one-to-one support to ensure pension schemes are equipped to identify, create, and maintain tailored investment solutions. The partnership will help PMI members improve their understanding of how investment-only platforms can benefit pension schemes.

The partnership will give PMI members access to the latest insights and information on investment-only platforms. PMI members will also be able to access Phoenix CIS’s content through a range of distribution channels, including its magazine ‘Pensions Aspects’, email newsletters, and its dedicated Academy Partners web area.

As the industry becomes increasingly focused on reducing costs and providing members with meaningful long-term investment, trustees and consultants are faced with the challenge of finding appropriate solutions for pension schemes. Investment-only platforms offer optionality and a broad range of investment solutions that might not otherwise be accessible to scheme members.

Gareth Tancred, CEO of the Pensions Management Institute, comments: "Investment-only platforms are an increasingly valuable tool for pension scheme management. As 2023 brings about changes to the pensions industry, many schemes may benefit from having a greater comprehension and understanding of how platforms can support them to achieve their investment objectives. As experts in specialist investment servicing, Phoenix CIS is the ideal choice to be our Academy Partner on this topic and we look forward to working with them.”

Jess Williams, Head of CIS and Relationships, commented: “We are delighted to have joined the PMI as an Academy Partner this year, and look forward to delivering a programme of content that helps members build an understanding of how investment only platforms can support them and their Trustees with innovative solutions for DC, DB and Master Trust pension schemes.

“Trustees face a range of challenges at the current time, from increasing regulatory requirements, changing investment priorities and a growing focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, which are driving the need for innovation and change. At Phoenix Corporate Investment Services, we are well-placed to help members of the PMI understand the solutions on offer and can support them to navigate an evolving pensions landscape while delivering real value for scheme members.”
