Pensions Management Institute appoints new Director of Commerce and Engagement

The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) today announces the appointment of Varsha Gicas as Director of Commerce and Engagement.

In this newly created role, Varsha will oversee all commercial, marketing, event and membership activities including oversight of engagement with corporate partners, with individual members, and with PMI’s regional communities. In this role, Varsha becomes part of the PMI Leadership team and will report to Gareth Tancred, Chief Executive Officer.

Varsha joined the PMI in June 2020 as a senior sales manager. Prior to joining the PMI, Varsha spent over five years at the PLSA in business development and sales roles. She was latterly Head of Sales and Client Relations.

Gareth Tancred, CEO at the PMI commented, “Varsha’s new role is critical in helping us achieve our 2021 Corporate Plan objectives as well as engaging with members and partners needing support during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. She is an excellent choice for this challenging role, and I look forward to working with her over the coming months.”

Varsha Gicas said: “I am excited to be taking on a senior role at PMI and working with such a diverse and inspiring group of people. The future will be an uncertain one, as we navigate through the current market challenges, but I am confident and optimistic that with the support of our strong team and direction from our CEO Gareth Tancred and President Lesley Alexander, we can continue to service a sector that is so vital to our society.”
