Candidate registration

PMI Approved Centre candidates

As soon as an Organisation has been approved as a centre for CPC then candidate registration can commence. All candidate registrations must be sent to PMI by the centre contact.

Not at a PMI Approved Centre?

If you are not at a PMI  Approved Centre then you may take CPC on an independent basis.

Complete and return the Independent Candidate Registration Form.

Independent candidates are responsible for submitting their own entries to the case study examinations.

We will assign independent candidates to an examination centre where they can take their examinations.  This will be carried out after the closing date.

New to PMI?

Complete a Candidate Registration Form.

Not new to PMI?

Complete the Candidate Transfer Form if any of the following scenarios apply to you:

  • Transferring from one centre to another.
  • Completed APE within 12 months of registration and immediately transferring to CPE.

In all other cases a Candidate Registration Form must be completed.

Unique Learner Number (ULN)

It is an Ofqual requirement that Awarding Organisations must capture the Unique Learner Number (ULN) for all candidates. The Learner Registration Service (LRS) will allocate a ULN to every person undertaking education and training. The ten digit number will remain with them for life and will not be recycled.  Where a ULN is included with a candidate registration the PMI will check the ULN and the candidate details with the LRS. Candidate details submitted to the PMI need to match those on the LRS exactly. If there are any differences the PMI will be unable to validate the ULN.

For more information and to generate a ULN refer to the Learning Records Service – Learner Registration Area at www.learningrecordsservice.org.uk.

NOTE: It is not mandatory requirement to have a ULN.

If you are not sure who your centre contact is contact the PMI at qualifications@pensions-pmi.org.uk or on 0207 392 7400.
