PMI has been approved as the End-point Assessment Organisation for the Workplace Pensions Trailblazer Apprenticeship.

This page contains further information about PMI's End-point Assessment Activity and guidance for apprentices, employers and training providers.

The full details of the standard can be found on the .gov website here. This page also contains a link to the assessment plan for the standard which provides further detail on how the standard will be assessed.  These documents can also be found on the links at the bottom of this page.

Guidance on End-point Assessment

In accordance with the Assessment Plan a range of assessment tools have been developed to provide guidance and support to those undertaking the apprenticeship and/or those assisting in the delivery of the apprenticeship.

These include:

1. Guide to the PMI End-point Assessment Programme

2. Detailed Assessment Criteria and Guidelines for Portfolio Content:

A. Administrator Version

B. Consultant Version

The assessment criteria are grouped under the learning outcomes in the Assessment Plan and for each assessment criteria some examples of evidence that could be included in an apprentice's portfolio are provided.

3. Assessment Template

This template contains the assessment criteria and includes space for completion in each individual case. It is available in both PDF and Word formats and can also be incorporated into online portfolio tools.

4. End-point Assessment Decision Template

This template is used by the employer or training provider for recording the overall grade of the portfolio (pass or distinction).

5. Structured Brief for the Reflective Discussion

This is contained within the End-point Assessment Specification document. This can be found at the bottom of this page.

Fee for End-point Assessment

The fee is £1000.  The fee is subject to regular review.

Application Form for End-point Assessment

This can be found at the bottom of this page. Please ensure the notes that accompany the form are carefully reviewed.

Gateway Criteria

Typically the Gateway is reached 15-20 months after the Apprenticeship has been started.  The Gateway is the point at which an apprentice can move on to the End-point Assessment.

The decision will be made by the employer and training provider based on the progress of each apprentice.  The only formal pre-requisite is that the apprentice has completed the chosen professional qualification.  The decision will be recorded on the End-point Assessment Decision Template (see above).
